Legal Guarantee: Understanding Coverage for Manufacturing DefectsUpdated 2 months ago

At Globe, we prioritize quality, performance, and durability.

With over four decades of dedication to these values, our products undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet the highest standards. Our materials, construction methods, and durability standards are designed to prevent product faults from reaching our customers. While genuine manufacturing defects are extremely rare, any potential issues are identified and resolved during production, ensuring that only products meeting our strict standards leave the factory. Additionally, our core team of professional skateboarders rigorously tests each product to ensure it performs under intense, real-world skate conditions.

Our legal guarantee covers only manufacturing defects or any lack of conformity that was present at the time of delivery. It does not apply to damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, negligence, accidents, or prolonged use.

Under EU Directive 2019/771 and corresponding national laws, your purchase is protected by a legal guarantee of conformity. This means that the product must match the description, be of satisfactory quality, and be fit for the purpose it was sold.

If a product shows a defect or fault present at delivery, you are entitled to request a repair, replacement, or refund within 24 months from the time of delivery. This guarantee only applies to defects that were present at the time of delivery. However, it does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, or issues that develop after delivery due to prolonged use or improper care.

What the Warranty Covers:

  • Manufacturing defects that impact the performance or appearance of the product when new and unused.

  • Lack of conformity present at the time of delivery.

  • If a defect becomes apparent within 12 months, it is presumed to have existed at delivery, unless proven otherwise. After this period, the consumer must prove that the defect existed at delivery.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover:

Our warranty does not apply to:

  • Normal wear and tear due to regular use (e.g., sole wear, discoloration, scuffing, or material fatigue).

  • Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or unauthorized modification.

  • Deterioration after several months of active use.

  • Natural alterations due to time or exposure (e.g., sun, humidity, or heat).

  • Incidental or indirect damage (e.g., time loss, financial loss).

  • Accidents, shocks, drops, or any external event.

  • Use of non-compliant or non-recommended accessories or parts.

  • Negligence or insufficient/incorrect maintenance.

  • Products purchased from unauthorized resellers (outside of official channels).

  • Damage due to inadequate storage or transport.

If a product shows damage after several months, it is considered normal wear and is not a manufacturing defect. Warranty claims should be submitted as soon as a defect is noticed, ideally within the first month, to ensure quicker resolution. However, claims can still be made within the 24-month period, as long as the defect existed at the time of delivery.

Manufacturing Process and Quality Assurance:

Since all of our products are manufactured in large quantities on the same production line using identical techniques, it is highly unlikely for just one product from the batch to exhibit a defect while others remain unaffected. We maintain strict consistency in production, ensuring each product is made with the same care and precision. Any defects are identified and resolved before the product leaves the factory.

Therefore, if a defect is reported many months after purchase by only one customer, it is less likely to be a manufacturing defect, but rather a result of normal wear and tear, which refers to the gradual deterioration of the product resulting from regular, everyday use over time. This includes the natural breakdown of materials, surface damage, and minor cosmetic changes that occur as part of the product’s intended use. If you suspect a defect, we encourage you to reach out promptly to ensure a quicker resolution.

While rare, occasional manufacturing defects such as stitching issues can occur. These defects are typically evident during the first use. If you believe your product has a defect, please contact us immediately to ensure a quick resolution.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim:

If you suspect a manufacturing defect:

  1. Contact us immediately via the Warranty Claim Form

  2. Provide your order number, photos showing the issue, and a short description of when and how the issue was noticed.

  3. Our quality team will review the claim to determine if it qualifies as a manufacturing defect.

  4. If confirmed, we will repair, replace, or refund the item in accordance with EU consumer law.

At Globe, every item is built to perform under the toughest conditions. However, even the best skate shoes and gear will eventually show signs of use — that’s part of skating hard. Our warranty covers only manufacturing defects present at delivery. Normal wear, aging, or damage caused by use are not covered.

Thank you for understanding and for being part of the Globe community.
